Below the Sun (2020)
Sound and video installation with live reading
Premiered at Changing Room, Berlin, 2020.

The live reading was based on the score Below the Sun / Book of Verse.

On Christmas Day 1972, the Apollo 17 mission captured the iconic photograph of Earth, later known as the Blue Marble. This fragile, glass-like image of our planet inspired a growing ecological awareness in the decades that followed. Yet more than 50 years later, relentless consumerism and environmental destruction have driven the world’s ecosystems to the brink of collapse.

The sun, a central figure in both ancient mythology and modern science, forms the core of the narrative in Below the Sun.

The installation combines computer-animated imagery of burning gases with a live reading, visualizing atomic processes and transformations. The video reflects on the autonomous, untamed behavior of burning gases and on the sun as the most powerful energy source in our solar system.
