Kirsten Palz Sculpture as Writing
I have kept diaries throughout my adult life. I call these my ‘note books’ - it is a way to capture my everyday life and reflect on change. Many of these books have developed into being thoughts on disappearances. My artistic practice and the archive Sculpture as Writing have thus turned to environmental research to understand the changes on planet Earth. I view scientific reports and white papers as spaces to observe the present.
The Diary of Disappearances is my way of keeping track of the human-caused destruction of Earth’s ecosystems. My archive includes texts, prints, performances, installations, video works, audio, and land art.
