Temperatures (2021) video by Kirsten Palz
Temperatures - Precipitation - Wind (2020)
Video: 1:36 minutes (played on loop)
This visual research into weather examines data on temperatures, precipitation, and wind. Measurements from NYC’s weather stations, starting in 1994, are translated into spike graphs, reflecting the dramatic fluctuations in temperature.
The video was created as part of Re-imagining America. The exhibition featured works by artists who, over the course of their careers, have moved between the United States and Germany – particularly between New York City and Berlin. Through the selected artworks, the project explores narratives about the self-understanding of artists.
