Le Foyer du Château (lFdC)
Founded in September 2017 by Miya Yoshida, Annette Maechtel, and Kirsten Palz, Le Foyer du Château (lFdC) is an independent project space dedicated to research into urbanism and living environments. Operating with a concept of artistic production that emphasizes communal action and interdisciplinary exchange, lFdC welcomes contributions from all disciplines. Its programming since inception has included video screenings, artist talks, reading groups, workshops, and experimental formats.
Between 2017 and 2022, lFdC was based at Karl-Liebknechtstraße 9 in Berlin Mitte, located near the Berlin Humboldt Forum (commonly known as the "Stadtschloss"). The name Le Foyer du Château reflects this proximity while also symbolising the project's role as an alternative and critical space for debates and presentations.
In 2022, lFdC transitioned into a nomadic structure, continuing its mission to engage the public in diverse locations across Berlin and beyond. True to its principles, lFdC ensures that all events are free of charge and open to the public, reinforcing its commitment to inclusivity and accessibility.
